In November 18th 2009, Khojand city hosts the presentation of the center of arts and educational programs “Sougd”. This project supported by Branch Office of the International Organization of Open Society Institute- Assistance Foundation in Tajikistan and operating agency of Sougd government.

The principal mission of “Sougd” center consists from assistance to development of culture, art and education, realization of humanitarian and educational programs, rebirth of intellectual legacy and ethnic norms, development of open society, protection of cultural progresses of people leaving in the Republic of Tajikistan. The tasks of the center include: support of talented youth; development of programs on arts and education for creative initiatives; creation of informational network on culture and educational programs; assistance on development of traditional and modern art; forming of new modern art directions; realization of unified cultural space, and favorable conditions for people living in Tajikistan.

In 4th of November, 2009 will be conducted the presentation of official website of Constitutional Court of Republic of Tajikistan. The development of CC information portal became possible in the framework of partnership project: “Improvement of constitutional justice in the Republic of Tajikistan”, supported by Branch Office of the International Organization of Open Society Institute-Assistance Foundation in Tajikistan.
 
Primary intent of lunching the informational portal consists from assistance on realization of judicial reform in RT. This attempt relates to perfection of activities of Constitutional Court of Tajikistan and providing the access to information for citizens about constitutional justice in RT.

By the financial support of Information program of Open Society Institute-Assistance Foundation in Tajikistan, in the date of October 13th, 2009 Sougd Regional Library named after Toshkhudja Asiri would host presentation of typhloroom (systems on the basis of modern technologies for achievement of more effective rehabilitation of the blind).

This action would be held for the first time in the history of librarianship in Tajikistan. There would be created special typhloroom for blind and short-sighted people. The room would be equipped with special equipment and software which include computers installed screenful access to VIRGO-4, SUPER VARIO-40 display and reader “bibliophile-compact ÑD”. All these accessories would provide for blind and short-sighted people the equal access to information. This typhlo-equipment would allow to blind to work at computer, create and work up texts, read texts and literary, use different database, along with internet.

Representatives of culture administration, administration of education, executive body, representatives of particularized kindergartens, pupils of special hostels of Khujand and Isfara cities along with heads of libraries are invited to the presentation.

The presentation of typhloroom would be conducted in the date of 13th of October, 2009 in the building of Sougd regional library named after Toshkhudja Asiri. Beginning at 10:00

Seminar on principals of provision of palliative care for the specialists fro the Ministry of Health would start in Dushanbe

On October 6th in Dushanbe will start the seminar on principals of provision of Palliative care for the specialists from the Ministry of Health within the Public Health program of Branch Office of the International Organization of Open Society Institute-Assistance Foundation in Tajikistan.

The event will take place within the Memorandum of Understanding, signed between the Ministry of Health RT and Branch Office of the International Organization of Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation in the Republic of Tajikistan. 45 specialists from all regions of the Republic from among the doctors and nurses personnel, working in the adult and paediatric oncology, HIV issues, provision of support and nurse care will participate at the seminar.

The exhibition entitled: “Golden threads of Tajik silk”
The National museum named after Kamoliddin Behzod would host the exhibition entitled: “Golden threads of Tajik silk”.

In the date of September 15, 2009 in the building of National museum of Kamoliddin Behzod will be open the exposition: “Golden threads of Tajik silk”. The measure organized by Scientific Research Institute of Arts and supports by “Arts and culture” program of Branch office of the International Organization of Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation in the Republic of Tajikistan. The traditional silk museum- “Ardvi-Sura” was established from Scientific Research Institute of Arts. The museum includes a wide variety of silk materials and silk collection such as: Satin, shohi, adras, bekasaba, traditional dresses (coats, dresses, shawls and etc).

The history and modern culture of Tajik nation would be demonstrated in this exhibition. From collection of traditional silk museum “Ardvi-Sura”, people can reestablish the main phases of Tajik art and traditional craft development.

Action “First time-to the first class”
About 400 first class schoolboys of Khatlon region would be involved to the action “First time-to the first class”.

In the dates of August 31st and September 1st by the financial support of “Step by step” program of Branch Office of the International Organization of Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation in the Republic of Tajikistan would be conducted charitable action entitled: “Let’s train children for school – first time-to the first class”.

The main task of the action consists of supporting the first class schoolboys from poor families of Khatlon region, in the eve of new school year. About 350 first-form children will receive textbooks for the first school year and following accessories included in the parcel: satchel, 5 textbooks, copy-books, notebooks, pencils, pens, pencil-box and etc.

In the date of June 19th, 2009 in the conference hall of “Proton” hotel in Moscow city, would be conducted a round table on: “Women labor migration from Tajikistan to Russia: conditions, problems, perspectives”. This measure would be held by the assistance of Branch Office of the International Organization of Open Society Institute - Assistance Foundation in Tajikistan.

The aim of the round table includes- examination of women’s labor migration and assistance on development of basic rights and mechanisms of protection women-migrants from Tajikistan in the Russian Federation. This work would be done through receiving of information from women migrants of Tajikistan, non-government organizations, key public structures of Tajikistan and Russia, who work in the field of labor migration.

Issues on prophylaxis of drug addition would be discussed in Dushanbe

On 15th June, in Dushanbe, the working meeting on “Effective methods of collaboration between state and public organizations in drug prevention” will take place.

The organizers of this event are the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan, National Center for Monitoring and Drug Prevention.
The meeting will take place on the threshold of and within the series of events dedicated to 26th June- International day against drug abuse and within the memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan and Branch Office of the International Organization of Open Society Institute- Assistance Foundation in Tajikistan and comply to the implementation of the tasks of the Program on drug use prevention and improvement of the narcological support in RT for the period 2005-2010 under the #113 dated 02/04/2005 and the “State program on drug abuse prevention and fight to illicit drug trafficking in RT for 2008-2012”, that was approved by the resolution of the Government of RT dated 30/11/2007 under the # 585. One of the main goals of the given program is determined by the creation of the integrated system to reduce drug abuse and their illicit trafficking; reduction of the drug use spread and related to it crimes and law violation.

Creative action «Oftobak» will be carried out in Khujand on 1 June

Creative action «Oftobak» devoted to the International Children's Day will be carried out in the park of culture and leisure named after Kamoli Khujandi in Khujand.

The organizers of the creative action are Khujand local government and music school No. 2. The Arts and Culture program of the Open Society Institute in Tajikistan is providing financial assistance for the event. The main goal of the action is to present Khujand’s children's groups to the public and draw their attention to artistic education of the younger generation. Piano ensembles, xylophone and violin ensembles, chamber orchestra, children's choir and dance groups are participating in the action.

The creative action «Oftobak» with participation of music schools is organized for the first time. Presentation of children's creative teams of European orientation carried out on the occasion of the International Children's Day will provide an opportunity not only to restore the lost traditions, but will introduce the resurgent European musical traditions and artistic creativity to the population, as well as contribute to the development of aesthetic education and children’s creativity.

The Third International Festival of professional musical art «Bahoriston» starts in Dushanbe.
 
From 15 to 19 May, Dushanbe will be hosting the International Festival of professional musical art «Bahoriston» devoted to piano music «PIANO-FORTE». The festival is held with the financial support of the Arts and Culture program of the «Open Society» Institute - Assistance Foundation - Tajikistan. The festival will be attended by world famous pianists David Korevaar (USA), Vazgen Vartanyan and Shkarupa Valery (Russia), Zaytoun Narynbaeva, Gulshan Konusheva (Kyrgyzstan), Sergey Kim (Kazakhstan), as well as representatives of the National Conservatory of Kazakhstan named after Kurmangazy.

Throughout the five days of the festival there will be solo piano concerts. The pianists have also planned to deliver a series of master classes for students and teaching staff of the National Conservatory. In addition, a concert of young pianists - pupils and students of musical educational institutions will be organized in the frame of the festival.

From 4 to 8 May, the State Patent and Technical Library will host a seminar on «The system of culture institutions marketing management». The seminar was initiated and supported by the Arts and Culture program of the «Open Society» Institute- Assistance Foundation.

The seminar will bring together leading specialists from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, culture departments of Kulyab, Kurgan-Tube, Khorog, Khujand, representatives of non-government organizations on arts and culture, heads of libraries and students of the Tajik State Institute of Arts named after M. Tursunzade. The training session will be delivered by specialists of the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Arts and Culture Ustimchik M.V. and
